Amantadine

A drug found to be useful in the treatment of drug-induced dyskinesiasAmantadine structural 3D model.Again classed as a dopamine replacement drug, amantadine is an anti-influenza drug which works on different sites of the brain to increase the availibilty of brain dopamine. It is thought to also have some anticholinergic and antiglutamatergic effect. Side effects are few, for example, mild hallucinations and ankle oedema, but can cause sedation when used at high doses.
